About the Training

    These qualifications have been developed to raise awareness of key food safety
    issues and to provide employees with an induction to food hygiene.

    The courses are available in specific sectors:

    • Level 1 Food Safety Manufacturing

    • Level 1 Food Safety Catering

    • Level 1 Food Safety Retail

    Who is this training for?

    The Level 1 Awards in Food Safety provide an ideal solution to staff induction training including:

    • New employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge

    • Employees handling low-risk or wrapped foods

    • Front of house employees, such as waiting or check out staff

    • Back of house employees, such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff

    Training Cost - £20.00 +VAT

    How is the training delivered?

    Online Training is through a secure portal - Individuals will be provided with dedicated access for 30 days.

    How will I be assessed?

    The level 1 food courses each consist of 4 modules.
    You are given the chance to review all your answers at the end of each module before final submission and you will be given 3 attempts at each module to achieve a pass rate of 75% or higher.

    By the end of the course you will be able to:

    • Understand the basic requirements of food safety and hygiene

    • How to clean and be hygienic

    • How to keep work areas clean

    • Your role in reducing contamination

    • Identify key food safety issues

    Why is training important?

    It allows a business to start producing a due diligence defence by satisfying the law that all food business operators must ensure that their employees are supervised, instructed and trained in food hygiene matters
